Susanne Kowal

was born in Berlin and received her first piano lessons at the age of 10 years.

During her high school years she won several prizes in the “Jugend musiziert” music contest for young people.

She studied piano at the Hochschule für Musik Berlin under Professor Puchelt and classical philology at the Freie Universität Berlin. She is a scholarship holder of the Gotthard Schierse Foundation.

After her artistic matriculation she attended several master classes (e.g. the International Summer Academy in Nice, Stift Melk (monastery), Weikersheim Castle). In 1986 she accepted the position as Head of the Department for Keyboard Instruments. In 1991 she obtained the diploma as Music School Headmaster.

Susanne enjoys extensive concert and teaching activities and is an acclaimed pianist and accompanist. With her husband, Antoine Saad, she formed Duo Orpheo in 1990, giving musical performances at a high artistic level since then.
